Art Direction
Part of my role as a creative is to provide art direction to creative teams in addition to arranging and being part of photoshoots. Both I truly love.
The photo shoot involves having a vision of what you want to achieve, creating a photography brief, sourcing the right photographer, planning the shoot (inc. location, models), agreeing costs, attending the shoots and being able to adapt to last minute changes.
It all seems so simple when you read it back. What it doesn’t say which I should stress is the ability you need to have to put people at ease. Not just the people in the images whether they’ve done it a hundred time or if it’s someone’s first photoshoot. It’s putting the photographer at ease also. All this comes done to how you handle yourself and others.
Plus if you can make them laugh then you’re half way there already.
